Career learning

Online green careers workshops

We work directly with industry professionals to bring real-world STEM careers straight into your classroom.

These online workshops give students the opportunity to meet the people behind the professions, helping to challenge common misconceptions about STEM careers and who can pursue them. By connecting with professionals from a range of backgrounds, students see that there isn’t just one “type” of person who works in STEM.

Students gain valuable insight into the diverse journeys, challenges and opportunities that shape careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics — making future pathways feel more accessible, relevant and achievable.

High school career days

In partnership with your event or school, our team can deliver ½ day or full day in-school workshops offering up to five activity stations (mix of pupil self-led, client volunteer supported and consultant - facilitated).

Stations are designed to be accessible, fun and linked to real-world applications in renewable energy careers. Activities can include:

– solar circuits

– solar toy experiments

– blade angle experiments

– blade type experiments

– battery energy storage systems (BESS) hand crank challenge

Volunteer

Help Inspire the next generation of STEM thinkers
Many students have never met anyone working in a STEM career and often have no idea how to pursue one themselves. You can help change that.

By spending just 30 minutes preparing and 30 minutes chatting live with students via a webinar, you could become a volunteer STEM ambassador.

You’ll share what your job involves, the everyday skills you use and what you enjoy about your work.

If you're interested in helping students see themselves in a STEM future, we’d love to hear from you. Find out more on our blog

Working in the industry

Jennifer Gavalotti, Project Coordinator, Eden Renewables

Jennifer explains why she believes social media gives the company a voice and why that's important. Her advice would be to take environmental science classes to get a good knowledge base of the industry.

Travis Mitchell, Engineer and Partner with Environmental Design Partnership, LLP

Travis discusses his role in site and civil permitting work. He recommends exploring different areas of engineering, finding the area you are most interested in and asking companies for experience and internships to learn more.

Stephanie Tomlinson, Director of Operations at Eden Renewables

Stephanie's career went quickly from being a receptionist to a co-ordinator because she is so organised. She also explains the different paths in the energy industry and that there is something for everyone.

Hyde Clarke, Associate Attorney with the Environmental Law Firm, Young/Sommer LLC

Hyde helps projects get the right permissions and describes his favourite part of the work he does. Advice he would give is to look for internships, get experience at different institutions that you can then use after school. He took an environmental policy course which made him interested in renewable energy.
