"We have used all the resources from the Solar Farm in a Box. The children loved it, especially the solar cells and the buzzers.”

Solar / Wind Farm in a Box

A new concept born from COVID-19.

We have packaged together resources and equipment to bring a solar or wind farm to life in the classroom.

In the box you will find solar and wind powered circuits, solar toys, wildflower seed mixes, two books, lesson plans and information leaflets. The activities are supported  with a webinar and our educational films.

These can be reused throughout each class in the school.

Power Your School

Working with two PhD students from the University of Cambridge we have developed a project for higher primary and secondary children to explore powering their school with renewable power.

We provide enough light and wind meters for a class to run the project, videos explaining the background to the project and clear lesson plans.

We can also run it as a webinar.

Educational Films

During 2020 we developed our educational films to be able to share our knowledge and open up experiences of renewable energy sites to children at home and in the classroom.

We have explored the biodiversity of a solar farm, the transfer or energy from the sun to your home through a solar farm as well as several other short films.

We are in the process of editing a film on land use change at a solar farm in Leicestershire and will be filming the construction of a solar farm in New York State. Future films might include, archeological assessments on solar farms, birds on solar farms and a wind farm tour.

"Tracy introduced us to a national programme linked to the University of Cambridge (Energy Mapping Project) where we have to track our wind and sun measurements over a sustained period of time. This is great for data analysis, Maths and recording data. This gives us a real purpose for learning and helps the children understand the importance of Science. We have two children already inputting the data on a regular basis.”
